My Favorite Posts You Haven’t Read

Sex sells. So does raising titillating and often uncomfortable questions it seems. At least, those are some of the things that “sell” on this blog.

A little while ago, I shared the Top 10 Posts of 2012 (So Far). The posts that comprised that list were a bit of a surprise to me. Sure, some are a given, but it seems that almost every time I write a post that I absolutely, completely love and feel proud of–only a few of you read it.

My favorites posts get less action and the posts that I am undoubtedly unsure of and feel insecure about usually do well. Go figure.

But, with all that in mind, I thought I’d share a few of My Favorite Posts You Haven’t Read (maybe you have read these because you are a hardcore “reject” and for that I thank you). I’m going all the way back to the archives from two years ago when I started this baby.

Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Spiritual Glamour. This is how I have long felt about the way we elevate those in the church to “special” positions and yet, ignore those who serve as the hands and feet.

2. Is “Online” Church Really Church. This was one of the first posts I ever wrote where I set out with one opinion when beginning and ended with an entirely different opinion when finished. I love when God does that.

3. The God of Now. This was a more personal post for me about my need to see God, right now.

4. What is the Purpose of the Church Part 1 and Part 2. I think if you asked most believers what the purpose of the church is, they wouldn’t really be able to answer correctly–or Biblically. I was hoping more people would read and see this post. That’s how it goes sometimes.

5. What I Want vs. What I’ve Got. Another more personal post. (I think I’m recognizing a theme here. Less personal. More edifying. That’s my preference too though).

6. This One Goes Out to All the Mommies. A post specifically to thank and encourage all the moms out there.

7. Is it Really a Man’s World? I love this little post and I wrote it a long time ago. It surprised me how little people reacted to this one.

8. A Dream for the Church. In this post, I asked you what is your dream or the church and I shared mine. I thought a few more people would have some dreams to share.

9. Our 3 Greatest Needs. Sounds pretty self-explanatory, right? When I discovered these three things, it really changed the way I viewed God.

Okay, so there are a few of the posts that I happen to love that have not been as “popular” or comment-worthy. I hope this post gives you the chance to read a few things that you might have missed. Those poor little posts need some love, too.

If you do happen to read a few, please let me know which ones you liked best and why. Not to inflate my ego, but just because I’m curious.

    1. Ha! Yeah, well, we all know real men weep. Jesus did it.

And thanks for never letting one of my posts sit here comment-less and alone. I always look forward to your input.

      1. Gasp! You think I comment so you will feel like you are being read?!

        Perish the thought my friend!

I comment because yours is one of the few Christian blogs out here that isn’t wrapped up in spiritual victimhood, progressive politics, or otherwise useless drivel.

I really do, actually, seriously, read your stuff. I do. :)

  1. You are so right Nicole. It’s funny how what we think as writers is awesome, the reader may quickly gloss over. But when we feel like it’s all gone wrong, but just post it anyway, it really connects. Weird! Love your work.

  2. I can definitely relate. Blog posts I pour over and work hard on and fight and am extremely proud of get ignored and ones I just fart out get the biggest response. It only goes to show you never can tell what people respond to.
